The IvySage curriculum includes the usage of the National Geographic Keynote series for our speech and debate program. The Keynote series utilizes authentic TED talks to increase comprehension and inspire the learner to discuss powerful ideas in English. With 6 levels of integrated learning, students listen to TED talks on key topic ideas, consider questions to discuss, practice relevant vocabulary, write about the subject, study easy-to-read graphics, review effective presentation skills and deliver their own presentations. The real-world content of the Keynote course expands the students thinking on new ideas and builds their personal motivation. Students increase in fluency, competence, and ability to deliver ideas in a compelling way. The National Geographic Keynote series helps students, “develop the language and skills they need to be to be successful global citizens and leaders.”
