Students will explore multiple forms of writing while practicing the writing process. They will be learning new and more complex grammatical structures. During each session, students will hone their writing fluency by composing journal entries and learning logs. Through grammar mini-lessons and practice they will become more proficient in grammatical structures. As they become independent writers and thinkers, students will build a portfolio of their work.
Write Source is a great study tool for students to learn the basics of the English Language Arts as it pertains to reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The difficulty and complexity of exercises per grade differ. The grade 3 level will have students explore different avenues of writing. By practicing multiple forms of writing, the exercises will familiarize them with the proper writing process while learning proper grammar and sentence structure. In this course students will learn to find their way through the English and Literary world.
Students will be able to:
1 Use the writing process to compose polished texts
2 Use appropriate grammar to ensure clear communication
3 Peer revise, edit, and share their work
4 Write for different purposes and audiences

Here at IvySage Academy, we emphasize the importance of Attendance and Participation. Not only will being present in class be beneficial for your overall grade but will allow you the opportunity to ask your instructor questions if you have any. Participating in-class discussions will enable you to share ideas and gain new ones with your peers. Lastly, participation and attendance will help you internalize the content needed for tests and assessments of the class.
Attendance: If absences are necessary, please contact [email protected] 24 hours before class so we can help you find out what you will be missing. If you have to be late for class or leave early, please try not to interrupt the class. Contact [email protected] to find out about missed course work.
Participation: You will benefit the most if you participate. We understand everybody is different. However long you choose to participate, please try to pay attention and actively engage with the class material exercises and your peers.
