Welcome to our ESL section! Here at IvySage Education, we strive to aidi our students navigate the tricky waters of the English Language in order for them to sail through not just the courses we offer but provide them a foundational base to help guide them in all future endeavours involving English. Learning these skills from the very beginning will help to develop and enhance critical thinking and close reading--skills that are  necessary to progress to other classes throughout their educational journey. Our courses offer a compelling introduction to the world of English through the use of both fiction and nonfiction stories that are sure to spark the reader’s interest! Our courses for ESL are for kids of any age! We hope you will take the first steps in your journey with us!  

Course Description

The Worldly Wise program is a system that expands the students’ understanding of the English Language. The Worldly Wise 3000 approach is to use interactive activities, engagement, and group discussion in order to reinforce vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar comprehension. Students will read age-appropriate literature that encourages them to asks questions about what they read, spot new words they can add to their ever-growing vocabulary and knowledge base. Difficulty will differ with each grade level: While K-1 will focus on building a solid foundation of the English Language, Grades 2-12 will focus on delving deeper into English Language roots, and academic-based learning and testing such as SAT, PSAT and ACT. Worldly Wise is a profound tool that solidifies the foundation of the English Language and helps to reinforce and build on the skills learned at an early age.

Preparation Before Class 课前准备               

1. An electronic device with access to the internet. 一台可以连接网络的电子设备

2. Zoom Launcher needed for accessing class meetings. Zoom用来访问线上课程

3. SeeSaw needed for accessing class assignments and other study materials. SeeSaw用来访问课堂作业以及其他的学习资料

4. 教务宝 needed for scheduling class sessions, sending the class notification, reschedule requests, etc. 教务宝用来给学生安排课程，发送上课提醒，申请调课，等。

Attendance and Participation 出席和参与

Attendance: If absences are necessary, please contact us 24 hours before class. If the student has to be late for class or leave early, please try not to interrupt class when leave.

如果学生遇到必须缺席的情况，请在上课前24小时联系我们。如果学生遇到上课迟到或者需要早退的情况，请尽可能的不要打断正在进行的课程。

Participation: During the class sessions, please try to pay attention and actively engage with the class material exercises and your peers. It will make the class more productive (and more fun) for us all! 

在上课的过程中，请尽量集中注意力并且尽可能活跃的参与课上的练习以及和同学的互动。这会使整节课变的对大家更有益也更有趣！
